ASRock FATAL1TY Z270 Gaming K6 Motherboard Pictured and Detailed – Fully Loaded For Kaby Lake CPUs
First pictures of ASRock’s top of the line FATAL1TY Z270 Gaming K6 motherboard have leaked out. Just few weeks back, we spotted the packages for ASRock motherboards but now we are looking at the actual products.
ASRock FATAL1TY Z270 Gaming K6 Motherboard Pictured – Fully Loaded Design
The ASRock Z270 Gaming K6 motherboard comes in a stylish yet overused, red and black color scheme. The motherboard has a solid aluminium heatsink embedded on the VRMs that are interconnected through a thick heatpipe to transfer heat load. The CPU socket is powered by a 8-Pin connector while the motherboard gets power from the 24-Pin ATX connector. The motherboard packs Super Alloy components and delivers support for overclocking and extreme stability under heavy loads.
The board features four DDR4 DIMM slots that can support native speeds of DDR4-2400 or overclocked specs beyond 3666 MHz. The motherboard has a large plastic frame that covers the I/O bracket and extends down the isolated sound chip PCB. For sound, ASRock has integrated a high-end Creative Sound Blaster Cinema 3 unit on this motherboard.
Expansion slots include three PCI-e 3.0 x16, two PCI-e 3.0 x1, and two M.2 slots. There are two USB 3.0 headers below the ATX connector slot. The FATAL1TY series heatsink is placed on the Z270 PCH to cool it down. Storage options include eight SATA III 6 GB/s ports.
Lastly, we have a good look at the I/O. The motherboard comes with a PS/2 port, four USB 3.0, a USB 3.1 (Type-A) and a USB 3.1 (Type-C) port. Display outputs include VGA, DVI and HDMI for those who will be running the Intel integrated graphics. There are Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and a 7.1 channel HD Audio jack. There’s also a bracket for a Wi-Fi wireless bluetooth module that could be shipped with the package. Expect pricing of this board around $250 US.
Here’s What To Expect From The Kaby Lake Platform (200-Series)
The Kaby Lake processors in general would be getting increased core performance. Some numbers for the top Core i7-7700K were leaked last week, showcasing impressive performance. The processors will retain the basic features such for DIY users such as enhanced full range BCLK overclocking and 95W “Unlocked” options to choose from.
The Intel 200-Series PCH is a crucial update for the upcoming family of processors as it will allow support for them. The Intel 200-series PCH will include several SKUs such as Z270, H270, Q270, Q250 and B250. While the new chipset doesn’t include any major changes over the Skylake PCH, it does include support for Intel Optane technology. The new tech utilizes Intel’s 3D XPoint memory to deliver high-performance SSDs and memory solutions.
