Ahead of Nintendo’s E3 briefing later today, the Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening Remake release date for the Nintendo Switch might have been leaked by Amazon Japan.

As picked up by ResetEra user ‘Atheerios’, the website of Amazon Japan mentions a release later this year on September 20, which is a Friday – Nintendo’s usual day to release new titles. Prior to this updated listing, Amazon Japan merely listed The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening to be released this year.

Of course, the updated listing could just be a placeholder date. It’s likely that Nintendo announces the remake’s release date later today during its E3 briefing.

The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening Remake was announced for the Nintendo Switch back in February of this year.

26 years after its original release on Game Boy, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will be reborn as a new experience on Nintendo Switch.

Buffeted by a storm, Link washes ashore on the mysterious Koholint Island. In order to return home, Link must overcome challenging dungeons and battle against fearsome monsters.

This new version of the classic adventure includes many unique elements that appeared in the original Game Boy release, such as 2D platformer-style rooms and appearances from characters outside of The Legend of Zelda series.

Nintendo’s 2019 E3 briefing kicks off at 9 AM / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST.
