Your Galaxy Watch Might Not Like The Fact That You Have Tattoos On Your Wrists But Samsung Is Working On A Fix

Galaxy Watch FE Apparently Exists as Samsung Looks to Expand Its Fan Edition Lineup

It turns out that several Galaxy Watch models are not playing nicely with tattoos, but this should not come as a surprise because most smartwatches run into these issues. You see, smartwatches use an optical sensor that helps them measure data, but if you have ink on your wrists, it becomes difficult for the sensor to get accurate information and in most cases, it fails almost entirely. This is an issue with almost all smartwatches that have an optical sensor, and most users are not really bothered by it because otherwise, the watch works just fine.

Galaxy Watch is getting an update that should fix the wearing detection for people who have tattoos on their wrists

However, Samsung wants all of the tattooed Galaxy Watch users to be at peace, considering how the company is working on an update that should fix the issue that users are facing, and honestly, it is nice to see that such issues are being noticed. The new update should fix the wear detection when you have the watch on your wrist, which means that the ink on your wrists should not be that big of a problem. However, considering how this is a software fix, I am not sure the extent to which this will be effective, but we'll have to wait and see once the update rolls out.

Suppose you are wondering when the update is going to come out. In that case, the moderator has talked about how it will start rolling out to all the supported Galaxy Watch models during the second half of this year, and considering how we are already in July, this update should not be that far, and you should be able to get back to using your Galaxy Watch generally in no time.

Even though this feels like such a non-issue, it's nice to see that Samsung has put the effort into fixing it. I can think of several reasons why ditching this update would have made complete sense, but instead, the company has decided to update the post so you can have a better overall experience with the smartwatch. We will keep an eye out for when the update launches, but my guess is that it will most likely be launching with the One UI 5 Watch, so be sure to check whether the wear detection is working on your Galaxy Watch better than it was before.
