The Witcher 3 CD Projekt Explains That The Weakest Platform Dicates the Quality; Wild Hunt Brings Over your Witcher 2 Decisions

PlayStation Access has released a video which details how The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt brings over our decisions from The Witcher 3. Since The Witcher 3 is the first iteration of the popular series to make it to the PlayStation platform this serves as a welcome addition.

You can watch the video below:

CD Projekt ensured fans that if the questionnaire is skipped, there is a default state of the world being implemented, so for newcomers to the series there is no reason to worry.

Of course The Witcher 3 has been touted for some time now now be the perfect jump-in point for newcomers to the series as it does an excellent job at introducing the Witcher lore and history to a new crowd.

CD Projekt Red has been regarded as a PC developer that goes to full lengths to optimize for the platform. In an interview with Gamesindustry, CD Projekt explains:

“Usually the weakest platform dictates the quality for all platforms, but high-quality visuals are our trademark, so we need to approach each platform as individually as possible,” Badowski says.

Even though CD Projekts admits the fact that game development is indeed governed by the consoles and in this case the weakest, they stress that they do approach each platform individually and make their enhancements accordingly.

Since thought the code has to be written within the constraints and capabilities of the weakest platform, there is just so much that an individual approach can add or enhance upon, on any other versions. This unfortunately is the state of game development and unless some major changes are made either with the new APIs or with more advanced consoles, it will be the standard which most developes follow.

PlayStation Access has also provided an in-depth look into many aspects of the game in a 46 minutes video which can be viewed here. It covers everything that fans have been asking for and provides answers to most questions without spoiling the experience.

A few gorgeous screenshots from the PS4 version have also been made available, and they reveal some quite beautiful vistas and the amazing lighting system.

From what we have seen so far The Witcher 3 certainly looks beautiful on all three platforms, and it will surely provide one of the greatest experiences of the year no matter the system of choice.

The launch cinematic which was made available yesterday looks amazing. CD Projekt has also revealed the changelog for the day-1 patch which can be viewed here.  docm77, has also made available a video interview with CD Projekt's visual artist, Jose Teixeira, in which he shares his thoughts on the downgrade subject.

The Witcher 3 is just three days away from release, and as we have previously covered, CD Projekt has already announced that pre-load options are already live, as well as the unlock times for The Witcher 3.
