Undoubtedly, 2023 has been a great year for foldable phones, as we have seen some of the best phones come out this year. The OnePlus Open won many hearts and became the best foldable 2023 has seen, and the Google Pixel showed a lot of promise, too. Sure, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 was also a hit, but it offered more refinements instead of innovations. We still commend Samsung for what it stands to believe in. Now, Vivo is preparing to launch the Vivo X Fold 3, and while the phone is potentially scheduled for next year, it is not too late to look at everything that the phone is going to offer.
The Vivo X Fold 3 could be one of the most decked-out foldable phones to come out next year
Based on a reliable tip, there are going to be two Vivo X Fold 3 models - the same phones but slightly different specs. The two models will be V2303A and V2337A, with one of them being the Pro variant, on which we do have some information to share with you.
For starters, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset under the hood. The phone will have three cameras on the back with a 50-megapixel main sensor, as well as an ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto unit. The main display will have a 2K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the outer display will also deliver the same reference rate.
The Vivo X Fold 3 is also tipped to have an ultra-sonic fingerprint reader on both of its displays, and the phone will have support for 100W charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone will not only be thinner but also lighter. Considering how the predecessor also followed in these footsteps, we expect Viivo to introduce something better than last year.
As far as the release date is concerned, Vivo has been tight-lipped about the availability, but we have a feeling that the Vivo X Fold 3 series is going to make its debut sometime in the first half of 2024. At least based on the past release dates, and if that does happen, then Samsung will need to step up its game with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 because that is the foldable phone Vivo will be going after.
