A new Tomb Raider Remastered comparison video was shared online today, highlighting how the official remaster is inferior to the game's RTX Remix mod in one specific regard.

The comparison video, put together by Cycu1, highlights how RTX Remix path tracing is superior to the lighting system employed in the remake. While the official remaster is superior to the modded version in other regards, such as character models, lighting is extremely important for an atmospheric game like Tomb Raider, so path tracing makes quite a difference.

On a related note, some additional information on the Tomb Raider Remastered collection launching tomorrow was revealed by SwitchUP. Alongside highlighting some visual differences with the original releases, the new control options and more, the video confirms the game runs at 30 frames per second on Nintendo Switch with the original graphics. As this is definitely not caused by any technical limitation, we should expect the other versions of the game to do the same, although modders on PC could increase the original graphics' framerate.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered launches tomorrow, February 14th, on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. All three games come with all expansions and secret levels, as well as a variety of visual and gameplay enhancements.
