Lenovo’s track record has been sketchy when it comes to delivering timely updates for their devices. Several Motorola devices are still running Nougat, with no Oreo update in sight. Thankfully, the Moto G5S Plus Oreo update began rolling out today. It bumps the device up to the June security patch and Oreo 8.1, skipping 8.0 altogether. Since the device runs Stock Android, the changelog is generic and the update brings the standard Oreo goodies such as Instant Apps, picture-in-picture, smart text selection, as well as various 8.1 Oreo revisions like a new power menu and a different look for the quick settings.

The Sprint variant of the phone is now receiving Oreo. The update arrives with May’s security patch in tow and weighs in at a hefty 1.8GB. Additionally, T-Mobile resumed their Oreo rollout for the V30, which was paused earlier citing excessive bugs.

The update clocks in at about 1.2GB, and should be hitting your devices shortly.
