Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, considered one of the best games ever made, has seen a complete "revamp" made with Unreal Engine 5 technology and now has received support for NVIDIA's DLSS 3 Frame Generation.

The work is done by none other than the famous modder CryZENx, who has already developed a version that re-imagines The Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Unreal Engine 5. The modded version includes improved textures alongside Hyrule grass improvements. Also, this version offers Breath of the Wild-styled dynamic music that changes at night and with weather cycles. Apart from the texture improvements, the modder has now introduced support for NVIDIA's cutting-edge technologies, providing an immersive experience to enthusiasts.

The new version now features DLSS 2 (Super Resolution) and DLSS 3 (Frame Generation) support, giving leverage to GeForce RTX 40 series owners to experience this tech demo with the best possible performance. With the inclusion of the above features, not only will the game run much more smoothly, but you could experience much more improved textures and scenery. The remake project by CryZENx is much more than a "UE5 remake" since the pool of features added to the original game makes it stand out from other UE5 projects.

The original version of Ocarina of Time was released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64 consoles, delivering 3D graphics for the first time in the franchise and receiving near-perfect scores from critics (it has an average of 99/100 on Metacritic and 98/100 on the now defunct GameRankings). It was later re-released with improved graphics for the Nintendo GameCube and the Nintendo 3DS.

Considering Nintendo's penchant for remastering and remaking the best titles in the series, it wouldn't be surprising if Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time appeared once again in a future console, like the Switch 2. Meanwhile, this modding project is the best bet to get its vibe with modern graphics.

In other Zelda news, Nintendo has officially confirmed that a live action film is in production.
