To meet the growing demands of high-frequency memory, Team Group has launched two new DDR5 memory kits that can operate at a low voltage without sacrificing memory speeds.

Team Group Brings High Frequency Elite and Elite Plus DDR5 Modules, Featuring 8000 MT/s at CL56 on 1.1V

Running a DDR5 memory kit/module at 8000 MT/s isn't impossible or particularly challenging anymore, but the real challenge remains reducing the high voltage these modules operate at. Traditionally, JEDEC-standard DDR5 voltage is around 1.1V, but most enthusiast DDR5 memories that run at around 8000 MT/s operate at 1.35-1.4V. Looks like Team Group has finally overcome the challenge and has successfully curated two new DDR5 memories that can operate at the JEDEC-standard voltage.

Today, Team Group announced the release of its Elite and Elite Plus DDR5 memory modules/kits, which can reach a good 8000 MT/s at just 1.1V. This is an impressive feat, especially when the RAM modules are fully stable under real workloads, as demonstrated by the company. The Elite and Elite Plus bring better signal integrity compared to conventional high-frequency DDR5 memory modules and appears to have very strong binning quality.

Although the RAM modules operate at loose timings of CL56-56-56-128, the reduction of operating voltage means more efficiency overall while also improving the reliability of the memory modules. Team Group says that these memory modules are designed to enhance overall system performance and computing experience, and are engineered for various types of desktop workloads, including "learning" and "entertainment".

Both the Team Group Elite DDR5 8000 MT/s and Elite Plus DDR5 8000 MT/s will be available in 2x 16 GB memory kits, and should expand with higher memory capacity kits later on. Team Group hasn't disclosed any information on the memory capacity options planned for later. The 2x 16 GB DDR5 kits will start appearing on the shelves in June 2026 in North America, and hopefully should launch in other parts of the world soon.
