Following E3’s permanent retirement, Geoff Keighley’s annual Summer Game Fest has officially claimed the crown for the summer gaming season. And, as every year, 2026's showcase is set to feature both world premieres and updates to already announced games, with something for all sorts of gamers to be excited about.

When and Where to Watch

The Summer Game Fest 2026 Showcase will broadcast live on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST / 11pm CEST.

Co-hosted by Geoff Keighley and Lucy James, the event will stream live across social and video platforms:

Runtime

While the official runtime has yet to be confirmed, looking at previous years' events, the 2026 Summer Game Fest showcase is expected to run approximately 2 hours.

However, new game reveals won't end with the main showcase, as the indie showcase Day of the Devs: SGF Edition will take place straight afterward.

What to Expect

Summer Game Fest's creator and host Geoff Keighley teased that the 2026 lineup will consist of world premieres and release date announcements from the industry’s top publishers, but did not go into any specifics to date. As such, we do not know which games will be showcased during the event.

Sandwiched between the June 2 PlayStation State of Play and the Xbox Games Showcase, it is unlikely the show will feature first-party games from Sony and Microsoft studios or franchises heavily associated with the two brands. However, as Resident Evil Requiem was officially revealed during last year's event, it's likely that itsstory expansion, or the rumored Resident Evil Code Veronica remake, will be shown if either skips the State of Play presentation.

The new entry in a franchise heavily associated with PlayStation could also be shown during the Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase: Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3. In this case, both the timing and prior events support this prediction. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's first gameplay trailer was shown during 2023's show, and with its Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S port launching a few days earlier, Square Enix could capitalize on the momentum of a successful release to show fans what's next for the trilogy.

Other games scheduled for a 2026 launch could also get a release date confirmation during the show, such as Control Resonant, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
