It has been some time since the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but the series is not yet done, as publisher EA itself recently said that there are more stories coming with series protagonist Cal Kestis. According to a new rumor originating from reliable insider Tom Henderson, these stories will feature an older protagonist.

"I mean this was like a year a year ago or whatever, but I heard that like Cal was going to be older in the game, so I don’t know if they’re doing like a little time jump or something," said the insider during the latest episode of the Insider Gaming Podcast as spotted by Bespin Bulletin. The discussion came up as the hosts discussed predictions for the PlayStation State of Play, Xbox Games Showcase, and Summer Game Fest showcase, but in no way did Tom Henderson confirm Star Wars Jedi 3 would be revealed at any of the upcoming summer showcases.

However, there's little doubt that an announcement may not be too far from release. Another reliable insider, Jeff Grubb, recently commented on the game, saying that it "went into production right away after the second one." While there was no doubt the series would continue, the fact that Star Wars Jedi 3 has been in the works for 3 years already suggests that an announcement may still not be that far from its reveal, even if it is not coming this week.

The prospect of playing an older Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi 3, needless to say, is very interesting, and could open up a lot of interesting possibilities from a narrative and gameplay standpoints. Seeing as Cal will be older, but not so old that he wouldn't be able to fight like the Jedi he is, we might see him blossom into a sort of "Obi-Wan" like figure that the fandom would certainly embrace, while making the third and possibly final entry in the series an even more interesting game.
