Sony is finally letting go of its love for the top and bottom bezels. Starting this Sunday which is when the MWC 2018 trade show will finally kick off, the company is expected to introduce its first redesigned high-end phones for 2018 and they are named the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact.

Both Xperia XZ2 Variants Will Be Armed With the Best Hardware for Android Devices Not to Mention Running the Latest OS

According to Evan Blass, 5.7-inch Xperia XZ2 and the 5-inch Xperia XZ2 Compact have nearly the same features. The handsets will come with Android 8.0 Oreo right off the bat and both phones are going to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845.

The XZ2 Compact, on the other hand, has a polycarbonate finish with the full HD LCDs incorporated on both phones being protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. On the back, there is 19-megapixel, F/1.8 camera setup, similar to what we saw on the XZ Premium. It can do a recording of 4K HDR video and it is capable really slow-motion capture in Full HD resolution. The camera on XZ2 Compact is slightly different, however.

On the front, there are S Force stereo speakers, with the Xperia XZ2 featuring a haptic feedback system which syncs vibrations with the sound. As for the battery capacity, the Xperia XZ2 has a 3,180mAh cell which can be charged with a Type-C USB connection or through wireless induction.
