Silent Hill 2 Remake

A new Silent Hill 2 remake comparison video was shared online today, highlighting many of the changes introduced in the remake over the glorious original released on PlayStation 2.

The comparison, which was put together by ElAnalistaDeBits, puts the original side-by-side with the remake developed by Bloober Team releasing next week, highlighting gameplay and visual changes. Judging from the comparison, the remake seems to bring great improvements across the board, which wasn't exactly a given, as the first few showings of the remake weren't exactly impressive.

The consensus on the Silent Hill 2 remake is generally quite positive. The reviews that have gone live today have praised the game almost universally, highlighting how Bloober Team has done an excellent job modernizing one of the best survival horror games of all time. Our own Chris went so far as to name the game as the very best Bloober Team has put out to date in his review.

Silent Hill 2 is the best game Bloober Team has made. A faithful reimagining of the original, bringing it to the modern day without losing what made the original the best horror game ever, using modern game mechanics to improve where they could, and expanding on what was already an engrossing world. Without any shadow of a doubt, a resounding success, one that will likely come as a surprise to many.

The Silent Hill 2 remake launches on October 8th on PC and PlayStation 5 worldwide.
