Over the weekend, Bloober Team revealed its next full game, though it wasn't what players expected. Star Trek: Shadow Frontier is the next full release from the team, but players were expecting to see a new DLC expansion for Cronos: The New Dawn titled Cronos: Lazarus, after it leaked ahead of the big Summer Game Fest 2026 show. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait too much longer for the official confirmation that yes, Cronos: Lazarus is a new DLC, and it'll arrive at some point in Fall 2026.

Lazarus is another story chapter for fans of Cronos: The New Dawn to dig into, and when it does arrive it'll be available on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2. You'll step into the boots of the Warden and face a faster-paced style of combat to make each fight all the more engaging and dangerous.

"Cronos: Lazarus shifts the tone towards a more aggressive style of gameplay," the official description of the DLC reads. "Whereas in Cronos: The New Dawn you focused more on precision and picking your battles, this expansion lets you experience what it means to be one of the Collective’s elite agents."

Of course, the added agility doesn't mean every enemy you face will be easy pickings, as you'll also have to face off against a monstrous creature that was made for the sole purpose of killing you. "This new pursuer is relentless, highly adaptive, and fully capable of matching the Warden’s strength. Your battles will escalate into large scale, cinematic encounters that will test every skill you possess."

When Cronos: The New Dawn arrived last year, Wccftech's Francesco De Meo gave the game an 8/10, praising its setting and level design while knocking its enemy design and combat. It sounds like this DLC is going directly after improving the combat experience, so fans of The New Dawn should be excited for what Lazarus has to offer.

"With its by-the-books survival horror experience, its first few hours feeling more frustrating than fun due to clunky combat and average enemy design, Cronos: The Dawn seemed to be nothing more than an unremarkable survival horror heavily inspired by the Dead Space series," De Meo wrote. "Push past the around two hours mark, however, and the game blossoms into one of Bloober Team's best titles to date, thanks to its quirky mechanics, solid level design, unique setting and mystery-filled story."
