Only yesterday, Samsung and Google partnered to work on making Android 14 and One UI 6.0 a better operating system, and today, we are hearing that Samsung has already started testing the update on Galaxy S23 and a number of other devices. Before you get excited, however, it is worth noting that it is just internal testing and by no means an indication of when the update will hit the phones, but considering how the testing has already begun, you can expect the update to arrive by the end of this year.

Samsung is already testing the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update, meaning we could get it as early as the end of 2023

Based on the information from Twitter user Tarun Vats, the first Android 14-based One UI 6.0 test build on Samsung's servers appeared earlier today. The firmware is meant for the Galaxy S23 Ultra and has version number S918BXXU1BWE2. In addition to that, SamMobile pointed out that aside from the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung is also testing the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 on Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4, and we have reason to believe that the Galaxy S22 series will appear in a number of days.

This means that Samsung could go ahead and start the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 beta testing later this year, with the stable channel receiving the update by the end of this year. Considering how Google will probably introduce Android 14 tomorrow with a stable release sometime in October, it certainly looks that Samsung phones will be the first non-Google devices to get the update.

Of course, it is too early to say anything about what the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 will be bringing to the table, but we do have a feeling that Samsung will be making several improvements under the hood. Only yesterday, both Google and Samsung announced how they are going to work together to ensure that the future versions of Android and One UI are not as aggressive when it comes to killing apps in the background, which ends up causing people to miss important notifications from several apps.

We are expecting a whole host of changes in the new update. We will keep you posted as we get to know more about what Samsung is cooking. Let us know what your wishlist is for One UI 6.0 in the comments below.
