Apple releases iOS 17.4 beta 1 again to evelopers and public beta testers on iPhone

Last week, Apple released iOS 17.4 beta to developers for testing purposes. The beta came with a wide range of changes imposed by the EU under the Digital Markets Act. Today, the company has seen fit to release the first public beta of iOS 17.4 alongside a revised version of the update to developers with a new build number. If you are a developer or a public beta tester, you can download and install the latest version on your iPhone and iPad right now.

Apple has re-released iOS 17.4 to developers with a new build number, download available for all compatible iPhone models

With iOS 17.4, Apple is allowing users in the EU to download apps from outside the App Store. Additionally, the update will also allow users to install alternate app stores. While most of these changes will be exclusive to the iPhone, Apple's App Store changes will apply to other Apple products. As mentioned, developers and public beta testers can download the latest iOS 17.4 beta through the Settings app on your iPhone.

To download the iOS 17.4 beta on your iPhone, make sure that your Apple ID is connected to your Developer Account. If the account is not connected to your Apple ID, the beta update will not be available over the air. All you have to do is head over to the Settings app on your iPhone, navigate to General > Software Update > Beta Updates > Developer Beta, and download the latest build.

For clarity, the previous or original iOS 17.4 developer beta holds the build number 21E5184i. The latest beta holds the build number 21E5184k. We are not sure what changes Apple has made in the latest beta of iOS 17.4, but we will wait for the developers to tinker with the latest build. Apple has also made additional features a global release, like the new transcriptions in Apple Podcasts, changes in Apple Music, and more.
