Warning: The following post may contain some minor Resident Evil 2 spoilers.

Eager to get your hands on Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake? Of course you are! Well, you get your chance today, as the Resident Evil 2 1-Shot Demo is available now. As the name implies, you’ll only have a single 30-minute shot to complete the demo mission, although, don’t worry – dying won’t prematurely cut your experience short.

Interestingly, those who play to the end of the demo within 30 minutes will get a nice little “On Our Next Episode” style teaser, which features some snippets of late-game scenes we haven’t seen before. The teaser also provides a first glimpse at a couple classic characters. If you don’t care too much about earning it yourself, you can check out the 1-Shot teaser, below.

Yup, Hunk and Tofu will be making their return in Resident Evil 2 Remake! For those unfamiliar with the original RE2, Hunk and Tofu were the protagonists of a couple of special unlockable modes. Hunk starred in The 4th Survivor, a more action-oriented challenge, while Tofu starred in The Tofu Survivor, which is largely identical to The 4th Survivor, except you played as a giant sentient chunk of tofu. Sometimes old games were weird, okay? Hunk and Tofu being teased would seem to indicate all of Resident Evil 2’s unlockable modes will be returning, perhaps with a few new ones!

Wccftech’s Chris Wray got to go hands on with Resident Evil 2 Remake, and came away impressed, dubbing it the definitive version of the classic game

“This is pretty much the definitive edition of Resident Evil 2. I’m a fan, it was – as I said – the game that got me into survival horror titles. I’m not so far above admitting that the story has never exactly been fantastic. It will be interesting to see how exactly it has been changed and if Capcom have made changes for the better, as they said they have. So far, all I can say is that the more I see, the more I’m looking forward to the Resident Evil 2 Remake.”

Resident Evil 2 Remake shambles onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on January 25, 2019.
