New Pokemon GO Update Makes Things Easier for Players, Lots of Fixes Included Too

Niantic has announced a new update for Pokemon GO which is in the process of rollout very soon. The update will be available for both iOS and Android. Here's the complete changelog of the update as per Niantic Labs.

Pokémon GO is in the process of being updated to version 0.49.1 for Android and 1.19.1 for iOS devices. Below are some release notes and comments from our development team.

  • Trainers will be able to transfer multiple Pokémon at a time to Professor Willow. To use this function, press and hold on a Pokémon.
  • Pokémon type icons have been added to the Gym battle approach and Gym battle screen.
  • The total Candy count for your Buddy Pokémon has been added to the buddy information screen.
  • The total kilometers a buddy has walked has been added to the information screen of each Pokémon that has ever been your buddy.
  • Minor text fixes.

Probably the best addition in this update is the ability to transfer multiple Pokemon to Professor Willow. Rather than doing this one by one, going ahead in one fell swoop is a wonderful thing indeed as it saves a lot of time. Apart from this, the update packs a handful of additions that aim to improve the gameplay for players in a lot of ways. Of course, there are bug fixes packed into this release as well.

When should you expect this new update to arrive on your iOS or Android device? Well, it's in the process of being rolled out as we speak so look for an update in the next couple of days.

If you haven't downloaded Pokemon GO yet, you'll be pleased to learn it's free to play on both iOS and Android. There are in-app purchases as well, if you want to boost things further. Tap on the links below to initiate the download.

Pokemon GO has seen a slowdown lately in terms of daily active users. But of course, Niantic Labs is doing all it can to keep things fresh and interesting for players. If you haven't tried the game yet, I suggest giving it a go. It's fun to play and gets augmented reality right in a lot of ways.

In the meantime, be on a lookout for the new update.
