Pixel 6a Drops to Its Lowest Price of $349 Ahead of Pixel 7 Launch

Google has officially gone ahead with the discontinuation of the Pixel 6a. There is no need to be surprised, however, as the phone hit the markets back in 2022, and even though it was among the best-selling pixel devices of its time, the company has finally given up on it. This also means that Google is now going to shift its focus toward the Pixel 8a, which is already ready for its prime time, but the technology giant is going to wait until May before it can finally start revealing more details about it.

Pixel 8a should be a lot better than Pixel 6a, but we might have to pay more

Right now, if you head over to Google's website to buy the Pixel 6a, you won't find the phone listed on the website at all. The Pixel 7a is still available to purchase, and so are the rest of the Pixel devices, but the budget king from 2022 is no longer available. Google partners might still have some units, but keep in mind that they are subject to availability. However, as far as the official status of the phone is concerned, it is discontinued.

Now, for those wondering about Pixel 6a's discontinuation, it should not really be an issue, to be honest. The phone served the users long and hard, and it was time to hang the old guard and wait for the new blood to show up. As far as the Pixel 8a is concerned, it is shaping up to be a promising device. It has already shown up a number of times, and considering how the Google I/O 2024 is a little over a month away, we are going to get the full reveal really soon.

The Pixel 8a will be a significant upgrade over the Pixel 6a and will include a high refresh rate screen, Tensor G3, multiple storage options, and more. So, it is safe to say that if you are looking for an affordable Pixel phone, it is better to just wait for May 14th because that is when Google will be going ahead with the unveiling.

I love the idea of an affordable Pixel device because it allows Google to offer some of its best software features at a more attainable price. If you are looking for something that serves you well, this is a great way to go. However, one thing that you must know is that the Pixel 8a could be more expensive than the Pixel 6a was at launch, at least based on the rumor we heard recently.
