Popular overclocker "saltycroissant" just dropped another world record and this time, he's the first one to break the 13,600 MT/s barrier.

Corsair 24 GB DDR5 Pushed To 13,606 MT/s on Z890 AORUS Tachyon Duo X ICE, a New DDR5 Memory Overclocking World Record

Seeing existing memory overclocking world records getting broken isn't anything new, but this is the first time someone has pushed the DDR5 speed past 13,600 MT/s or 6800 MHz. This is the official record as per the entry on HWBot and CPU-Z, and this positions the overclocker "saltycroissant" at the top of the leaderboard once again.

This isn't the first time for the overclocker saltycroissant to make history with his DDR5 RAM kits, but his record keeps getting beaten by prominent overclocking enthusiasts such as Sergmann, Hicookie, and others. Finally, saltycroissant got his revenge on the GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS Tachyon Duo X ICE, which remains in the news for breaking overclocking records.

Saltycroissant used a single Corsair Vengeance LP 24 GB DDR5 stick on the Z890 AORUS Tachyon Duo X ICE paired with the Ultra 7 270K Plus processor. The configuration is already the best for memory overclocking, and when coupled with liquid nitrogen cooling, it becomes easier to challenge the current records. The Z890 AORUS Tachyon Duo X ICE already helped a user achieve over 12,900 MT/s on DDR5 using ambient cooling, and with LN2, it can push the memory beyond 13,000 MT/s easily.

It's still very difficult to break that barrier, and enthusiasts take hours to fine-tune their hardware inside the BIOS. As per the CPU-Z validation, it's clear that saltycroissant is the new king of DDR5 overclocking, pushing his DDR5 module to a whopping 6802 MHz or 13,606 MT/s at CL68-127-127-127-2. However, a pic uploaded by the overclocker also shows the memory running at 6861.5 MHz, which is like 13,722 MT/s. That frequency hasn't been validated yet, and therefore, 13,606 MT/s remains the current world record.
