OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Brings 10GB RAM With 30W Warp Charge & a Brand New Papaya Orange Color Variant
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has officially launched thanks to a new partnership with OnePlus and legendary sports car maker, McLaren. Featuring a brand new color coupled with changes in the hardware specifications, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition gives new meaning to the term premium smartphone and if you covet a limited edition handset, you can learn more about the launch right here.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Maintains All Remaining Specifications and Gets a Significant Price Bump
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is still made from the same materials as the regular edition, but this one features McLaren’s noteworthy Papaya Orange that has been integrated in the design. Two hardware specification changes that raise the bar for Android smartphone manufacturers is the RAM and internal storage. Since none of OnePlus’ premium devices come with expandable storage, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition sports a whopping 10GB of RAM paired with 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
You should not be disappointed to hear that the new edition is not get outfitted with Qualcomm’s 7nm FinFET Snapdragon 855. It still retains the Snapdragon 845 and couple this with OnePlus’ focus to a clean UI and you have yourself a fluid interface mixed with intuitive gesture options. Another change added to the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is how long the device’s battery can top up.
Unlike the regular editions, the latest variant gets Warp Charge 30, which provides juice to the phone at an impressive 30 watts to two cells placed inside the handset. OnePlus markets this feature as one where the user can experience a day’s power in just 20 minutes. That is certainly a bold claim so let us see if the company was right or wrong in the future. There is still no Qi wireless charging but with the addition of Warp Charge 30, we don’t think you’ll complain for long.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will be available in the U.S. and Western Europe on December 13 and afterward, China. The U.S. price is $699, making it the most expensive smartphone from the company to date. However, it should be noted that in terms of limited edition models, this one is far from expensive (take a look at the Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design). OnePlus and McLaren have entered a long-term partnership, meaning that we should get to see an upgraded model in 2019.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition brings several changes, including that attractive Papaya Orange color variant, and the company has summarized the launch of the latest model in the video, which you can see anytime.
