The OnePlus 12 is a shining example of how the company earned its moniker of launching smartphones dubbed ‘flagship killers,’ and though the prices have increased compared to a few years ago, the impressive specifications and features suite of the latest model more than justifies its $799.99 pre-order price. OnePlus’ latest champion is $100 off on Amazon, and though the device is expected to be released on February 6, it will be worth the wait.
The OnePlus 12 can be pre-ordered in Green or Black, with both models featuring 16GB of the faster and more efficient LPDDR5X RAM coupled with 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. In short, the newest flagship is more than capable of running on-device Large Language Models (LLMs), making it one powerhouse of a phone. The OnePlus is also running Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with the added vapor chamber helping to keep the chipset running at optimum temperatures.
OnePlus has incorporated a premium 6.8-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED screen with support of up to a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 3,168 x 1,440. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with the back featuring regular Gorilla Glass. The battery is also a generous 5,400mAh cell, which can be charged using the traditional method of hooking the device with a cable, pushing 100W of power through the connection. Wireless charging is also an option, with the OnePlus 12 supporting up to 50W.

The rear and front camera setup is highly versatile, offering a 50MP main shooter paired with a telephoto lens and a 48MP ultrawide-angle unit. At the front, you can spot a 32MP camera. The entire rear camera configuration was developed with OnePlus and Hasselblad, so the latter’s color science and software improvements should be evident when capturing images or videos.
The OnePlus 12 runs Android 14 right off the bat and employs clean software with UI elements that do not get in the way of your everyday experience. Looking at its specifications alone, various Android phone makers would have charged $999.99 and above for such hardware, but OnePlus offers a more value-oriented proposition. Given that no ‘Pro’ name is used this year, the OnePlus 12 stands out even more.
