A Nintendo Switch Lite OLED mod (which can be seen in action running Final Fantasy VII Remake surprisingly well) is being released this week, and a new trailer was shared online to showcase the gorgeous screen that users will be able to install on the system in just a few days.

The SUPER5 OLED mod for the Nintendo Switch Lite, created by Taki Udon, will go on sale in multiple variants on September 26th at 10 a.m. Hong Kong time. The new screen boasts significantly higher brightness, contrast ratio, and color gamut compared to the vanilla screen, resulting in a much more pleasing experience that is more in line with the one that regular Switch OLED users can have on their system. A trailer was also shared to showcase the gorgeous screen, and you can check it out below.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 right around the corner, it's unlikely the Japanese company will ever offer an official Nintendo Switch Lite OLED, so getting the modification by Taki Udon is the only way to enhance the portable-only experience the system offers. An OLED screen also doesn't seem to be in the cards for Nintendo's next generation system as well, at least at launch, although the console is still going to offer a good portable experience, thanks to its low power consumption, which will grant it great battery life. The portable experience seems to have been a focus for Nintendo from the very beginning of development, as AMD's bid to create the system didn't go through due to performance and power consumption issues in handheld mode.
