Nintendo just announced in a fresh press release to have sold 10 million units of the Nintendo Switch console worldwide since launch. Considering that the Switch debuted in March, an unusual month for console hardware releases, this is an impressive threshold to have surpassed in just nine months.

As you can see in people’s living rooms, on a plane or riding the subway, fans all over the world can enjoy playing Nintendo Switch wherever they go. The response from fans has been great, and we’re doing our very best to satisfy demand during the holiday shopping season.

A lot of the platform's success is due to the stunning first-year lineup of exclusives. From The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to Super Mario Odyssey, from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to Mario X Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, from ARMS to Splatoon 2 there have been plenty of titles worth purchasing and third-party support is improving, too.

In the press release, Nintendo stated the intention to keep the momentum going into 2018 with titles like Kirby Star Allies, a new Yoshi game, as well as third-party titles like Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2, Mega Man 11, Project Octopath Traveler, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Shovel Knight: King of Cards and Runner3.

Conspicuously missing from this list are Nintendo's highly anticipated new Pokémon game and Metroid Prime 4, though it's unclear whether that means the two games won't ship until 2019.

Have you purchased a Nintendo Switch yet and if so, are you happy with it so far? Let us now in the comments.
