While expectations have been high from the company this year, especially with the promises of some noteworthy upgrades, the speculations leave little to the imagination, giving away quite a few details about the upcoming models. Now, with the latest leaked files, we can have an even closer look at the foldable, confirming previous reports about a thinner Z Fold 7.

Samsung seems to be gearing up to unveil its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Given that the launch window is not far away, the rumor mill seems to be churning in full swing. The most interesting speculation is that the Z Fold 7 might end up as the thinnest foldable phone. The latest leaked CAD files via SamMobile seem to bring more clarity on what to expect from the upcoming models.
As per the new renders, we can see that Samsung is opting for a major reduction in the thickness of its phone, especially when folded. With the Z Fold 7 sitting somewhere between the 9mm mark and 4.54mm when unfolded, which is the sleekest profile seen yet, especially keeping in view the current record that Oppo Find N5 holds, which is 0.1mm thicker than what we would be seeing for the Z Fold 7. This could serve as a game-changer for the company and could help regain its position from the heavy competition it has been facing from China.
However, it seems that the focus on the slim form factor is placed more on the Fold model, as there are not any major changes to be seen when it comes to the thickness of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The images suggest that the Flip model would stand at 6.94mm when unfolded, and when folded, it would remain the same as its predecessor. If the camera bump is also taken into account, the thickness of the phone comes down to 9.17mm.
The reported dimensions for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are 158.43 x 143.14 x 4.54mm, and for the Z Flip 7, 166.61 x 75.23 x 6.94mm. Samsung is clearly focusing on the Z Fold 7 form factor this year and optimizing its designs, with the Z Flip 7 only undergoing incremental improvements. While the dimensions do help bring more clarity on what to expect, more details will emerge as the launch date approaches.
