Earlier this week, Apple announced the iPad mini 7 in a surprise press release, and the device came with noticeable performance upgrades with no changes in design. However, despite no design changes, the iPad mini 7 is a promising upgrade as it brings Apple Intelligence to the table. The launch brings to question whether the company would release the M4 MacBook Pro and other Macs via a surprise press release as well or if it would prefer to host a dedicated event.
Apple expected to launch the new M4 MacBook Pro and other Macs later this month instead of November
It is now being reported that Apple's M4 Mac upgrade is right around the corner as the company's supply chain is gearing up for new MacBook Pro models with an M4 chip. The report was shared by DigiTimes, suggesting that the new MacBook Pro models with an M4 chip are likely to be released in October instead of the previously reported November time frame.
"Apple is expected to unveil new MacBook Pro models equipped with the latest M4 chip in October, which could boost related component shipments."
"This trend is evident in the revenue reports from component manufacturers such as Jarllytec and Shin Zu Shing for September."
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has previously stated that Apple will launch the iPad mini 7 and the new M4 Macs on November 1, but it appears that the iPad bit did not come out to be true. It is highly likely that the company will release the new Macs this month, but the iPad mini 7 release also brings us to question if the company is working on a dedicated Mac event.
While the company is expected to upgrade the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M4 chips, we are also expecting a new 24-inch iMac, which desperately needs an upgrade as well. However, both of these devices can be announced via a press release as the general design language of the machines will remain the same. In contrast, the redesigned Mac mini is expected to feature a more portable or compact size, and the company could devise a dedicated event to showcase the changes.
We have already seen M4 MacBook Pro unboxing videos which originated in Russia and we have observed that the design of the devices is the same, except that the new models would feature better performance. The base model is expected to come with a new Space Black finish, a color option which was only available on the higher-end variants of the machine, We will keep you guys posted on the latest, so do keep an eye out.
