LG V40 ThinQ Alleged Specifications Sheet Leaked; Reveals 8GB RAM Model With a 6.4-Inch Display, but No Triple-Rear-Camera

We are just a couple of weeks away from the unveiling of the LG V40 ThinQ and if the latest leak is to go by, the phone will do pretty well in the memory department. Unfortunately, what disappointed us about the latest info is the fact that an endless run of leaks and rumours pointed towards the flagship carrying a triple-camera setup at the back, and this specifications sheet opposes that information, as you’ll soon read about.

LG V40 Might Feature a Dual-Camera Camera on Both Sides Instead of a Triple-Sensor Hardware at the Back

In addition to a base model that will have 6GB of RAM, a freshly leaked picture has hinted that there will also be a variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard memory, which will most likely be expandable. The phone will be powered by the same chipset that powered the V35 ThinQ, which is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845. Likewise, the same 3,300mAh battery is expected to be there.

The screen size seems to have increased considerably from the 6-inch display seen on the V35 ThinQ to a whopping 6.4-inch, and the screen technology that will be used is AMOLED, without a doubt. The screen is expected to have an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a resolution of 3,120 x 1,440 pixels.

Unlike the V35 ThinQ which has a single 8MP selfie camera, the V40 ThinQ is likely to have two selfie cameras (8 + 5MP configuration), housed alongside an in-ear speaker in a notch to maximize screen estate. There are still only two cameras on the back, a 16MP sensor and a secondary 12MP wide-angle lens, dispelling the rumours that claimed the new phone will sport a triple camera system at the back.

According to the invitation letters issued by LG, the V40 ThinQ will be unveiled on October 3 in an event in New York. The flagship offering will presumably go on sale in the second half of the next month. With so many other launches slated for the month of October, it will be interesting to see how LG’s phone holds up. It is not known which markets the phone will be released in initially, but we’ll continue to update you accordingly.

Last, we want you to take this leak with a grain of salt because lots of previous rumours have pointed out that the V40 ThinQ will come equipped with a triple-camera upgrade and suddenly, we’re met with this disappointing leak. We’ll provide you with timely information when we can in the future, but for proper confirmation, we recommend waiting for more leaks to come forth.
