LG has launched UltraFine displays in the past and this time, the company has refreshed two new panels for a wide-range of Apple products. This means that Apple's Pro Display XDR isn’t going to be the only option available if you want to get your MacBook Pro hooked up to a dedicated screen to increase your work space and increase productivity. The top-end model is a 27-inch 5K display that offers a resolution of 5120 x 2880, resulting in 218 pixels per inch.
The single Thunderbolt 3 port at the back is not just used to provide a display output for users, but it can also provide 94W of power so that you can either charge your iPad Pro or MacBook. There are three additional Type-C ports to help you connect various peripherals and for video conferencing, there’s an in-built camera. However, don’t expect you’ll get away with paying a small price for this as the LG UltraFine 5K display will set you back by $1299.95.
The UltraFine 4K display is a much cheaper solution and offers two Thunderbolt 3 ports, allowing you to daisy-chain two displays with a Mac. These ports can also deliver 85W of power to compatible devices. While it includes three additional Type-C USB ports, it does not have an in-built camera and it is also much smaller; sporting a 23.7-inch diagonal screen size with a 3840 x 2160 resolution.
Both displays support 500-nits of brightness and get support for the P3 wide color gamut. Both of them also include built-in speakers, and their volume can be adjusted through macOS or iPadOS. These two models also include height and tilt adjustment for better viewing angles.
For creative professionals, and others that require high-resolution displays to complement their iPad Pro, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, you can choose from the 4K option, or the 5K one, with both of them being available on Apple’s online store right now.
