AOC fulfils its promise of releasing the first 1000 Hz 1080p gaming monitor that will trade blows with LG's offering.

AOC Launches AGON PRO AGP257FT, its First-Ever Native 1080p Gaming Monitor That Can Hit 1000 Hz Refresh Rate

AOC was the first monitor maker to announce a 1080p 1000 Hz monitor, even before LG. While LG released the world's first native 1080p 1000 Hz monitor nearly a week ago, AOC is next to have its first-ever 1080p 1000 Hz gaming monitor on the shelves. As per a previous report, the company was preparing a couple of high-end gaming monitors that included a 1080p@1000 Hz display.

Till now, most monitor makers could hit 1000 Hz or higher at 720p resolution, but LG and AOC are the first to do it at FHD. AGON by AOC and BOE collaborated to bring the AGON PRO AGP257FT gaming monitor to a launch event. The AGON PRO AGP257FT was showcased to the audience, unveiling the specifications that cater to the demands of professionals and enthusiasts.

As per the claims, the monitor uses BOE's native FHD 1000 Hz panel and does not use any interpolation. It's specifically aimed at competitive gaming, especially for fast racing and FPS titles like CS2, Valorant, COD, and others. The gaming monitor uses BLMB black-frame insertion, as we previously thought, which creates extra refreshes. The AGP257FT features a very low response time of just 0.2ms GtG, which is clearly much lower than what we see on conventional IPS panels.

While the company hasn't disclosed the panel type, it's likely an IPS panel similar to LG's offering. The monitor boasts a good 99% sRGB color coverage, ADS PRO wide-viewing-angle color technology, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. The company advertised "hardware circular polarizer" on the monitor, which is AOC's AiTong circular-polarized eye-care technology that simulates the spiral diffusion of natural light that reduces stimulation caused by directional polarized light.

Overall, it's a feature that, when combined with low-blue-light and flicker-free technology, reduces visual fatigue. As far as detailed specifications are concerned, AOC is yet to share more information on them along with the connectivity specifications.
