Apple introduced a $999 starting price back when it introduced the iPhone X, ushering in a new ultra-premium category of flagships, and it followed up with an even larger version while charging an additional sum. The company has not taken a backseat in this approach, but despite getting several generations of iPhone launches, the smaller ‘Pro’ version never crept beyond the $999 threshold, despite countless rumors clamoring otherwise. According to the latest rumor, the iPhone 16 Pro price for the base model is said to remain unchanged, which is an excellent strategy, and it means more features for consumers without throwing away a dime extra.
Customers now have to pay less to use the tetraprism periscope zoom lens on the iPhone 16 Pro
An update from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman on X talks about the iPhone 16 Pro pricing, and he estimates that Apple will stick to its usual approach of bringing in two premium models. However, there will be a host of differences this year, starting with the inclusion of a tetraprism periscope zoom lens on the iPhone 16 Pro. In fact, we previously reported that the same telephoto hardware present on last year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max will make its way to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max this year.
While this means that both high-end models will feature a tetraprism zoom lens, the specifications will remain essentially unchanged. Aside from that, the iPhone 16 Pro is said to receive a display size bump, but the bezels could be significantly thinner, as Apple is rumored to have adopted a ‘Border Reduction Structure’ technology to make this possible. The touch-sensitive camera button is said to be present on all iPhone 16 models, and thanks to the 10 percent battery capacity increase on the iPhone 16 Pro, the latter is expected to last longer.
I expect the touch sensitive camera button to be on all iPhone 16 models tomorrow. The slimmer bezels on the Pro line are noticeable, as are battery life improvements. I don’t expect the Pro entry price to be raised from $999. Big focus will be on AI & A18 chip across the board.

The announcement will have loads to talk about, but the latest rumor claims that Apple’s major focus will be on AI and the A18 Pro chip. The technology giant might receive a ton of flak for charging insane levels of premium for its products, but you cannot argue about its pricing consistency, and it is an indication of a robust supply chain. In any case, the ‘It’s Glowtime’ event will start in a few hours, and we will provide you with all the latest updates, so stay tuned.
