Apple could introduce an exciting color duo later this year, though it is rumored that these finishes will be exclusively available for the more expensive iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. According to a Weibo post, the Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium options currently available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be replaced by the ‘Space Black’ and ‘Rose’ ones.
Apple recently introduced ‘Space Black’ to its latest MacBook Pro models, ‘Rose’ finish was previously used for earlier iPhone models
The Weibo post was spotted by ShrimpApplePro, and in addition to ‘Space Black’ and ‘Rose’ variants of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple is said to bring the two flagships in the ‘White’ and ‘Gray’ models. Like the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple will likely stick with a titanium build, though it is unclear if the technology giant will reuse the Grade 5 variant or employ a better version. It is also worth mentioning that the new ‘Space Black’ and ‘Rose’ finishes have been used in previous Apple products.
For the ‘Space Black’ color, Apple incorporated it in its M3 MacBook Pro range, and it looks stellar. For the ‘Rose’ version, the company actually introduced it with earlier iPhone models, though Apple named it ‘Rose Gold’ instead of ‘Rose.’ A ‘Jet Black’ version of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus was launched in 2016, making it the only time Apple introduced it. Statistics show that Jet Black was the more favored color, so ‘Space Black’ may look similar to the previous finish and garner more sales as a result.
However, the mixture of titanium and ‘Space Black’ means that you will have to add a protective case to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max almost immediately because any nicks and scratches will be prominently visible thanks to the darker finish.
