iPhone 16 Pro Dummy Units Leak showcasing design

The standard iPhone 16 models are rumored to come with a redesigned camera plateau at the back. In contrast, the iPhone 16 Pro will not bring drastic changes to the lineup in terms of design. However, all models are expected to bring prominent improvements for an enhanced user experience. If you are unsure, we have got our hands on one of the images of the cleanest dummy units of the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models that show what users should expect based on leaks and reports.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro dummy units leak to show off design based on recent reports

The images of the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro dummy units were shared by Sonny Dickson on X, showcasing the design and form factor of the devices. Possibly, the four dummy units are designed for either testing purposes or for case manufacturers.

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus look a lot similar to the iPhone X or iPhone 12, as the camera sensors are arranged in a vertical fashion. While it appears that the company is running in circles when it comes to the design of the iPhone 16 lineup, we suspect that the vertical camera bump at the back will give the handsets a fresh look coupled with additional changes.

The images only show the iPhone 16 lineup from the back, so we are not familiar with the button situation on the devices. Nonetheless, the entire lineup is expected to come with an Action Button and a new Capture Button dedicated to the iPhone's video-taking capabilities. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are seen in pink and black color options, but it is not confirmed if these are the colors the company will go for.

Apart from the standard models, the dummy units of the iPhone 16 Pro show a larger camera plateau compared to the non-Pro models. One of the biggest changes coming to the 'Pro' models is the bigger screen size, which will jump from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches and from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, as highlighted in the leaked dummy units. This could make the devices slightly bigger but the company could also achieve this by further reducing the bezel size on the iPhone 16 Pro models.

Apple is working on a slew of new color options for the 16 Pro, but the range will not be as extensive as the standard models. We can see a triple camera setup at the back, which looks identical to the current models. As mentioned, the dummy units only show the devices from the back, so we are unfamiliar with the button layout. It was previously reported that the company could move towards the solid-state solution for the Volume, Power, and Action buttons, while the Capture Button will sit flush with the frame.

The iPhone 16 lineup will be announced later this year with upgraded internals and better camera hardware. Moreover, the devices could come with exclusive generative AI features thanks to the upgraded Neural Engine in the A18 chip. We will update you on the design of the device as soon as further details are available.
