It is now being tipped that some models of the iPhone 16, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max, will feature a bigger battery capacity.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max to feature bigger battery capacities, but the iPhone 16 Plus battery capacity could drop by almost 10 percent
It was recently reported that the standard models of the iPhone 16 lineup will feature a vertical camera layout. Apple appears to be running in circles when it comes the design of its upcoming iPhone, as it closely resembles the iPhone 12. However, the company has prototyped the device with a slim camera bump, which could give the device a new and refreshed look. According to Majin Bu on X, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature bigger battery capacities compared to the current models.
According to the details shared by the tipster, the iPhone 16 will feature a 6 percent bigger battery, a jump from 3,349 mAh to 3,561 mAh. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is speculated to feature a 5 percent bigger battery capacity, jumping from 4,422 mAh to 4,676 mAh. However, the tipster states that the iPhone 16 Plus will feature a roughly 9 percent smaller battery, dropping from 4,383 mAh to 4,006 mAh.
It is peculiar to see the iPhone 16 Plus taking a step back in battery size. Since the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus features an identical feature set, it remains to be seen why the company is planning to reduce the cell capacity. The iPhone 15 Plus currently features the best battery life on any iPhone. Apple has also promoted the iPhone 15 Plus as the iPhone 15 Plus in an ad, where it showed the device's all-day battery. Furthermore, at MKBHD's 2023 smartphone awards, the iPhone 15 Plus took the top spot as the smartphone with the best battery life. Take note that the final word rests with Apple, as these are mere speculations based on initial information.
