Apple released its latest iOS 18.3 update in January, which came with a plethora of new additions, but the Siri experience remained the same. We have reported in the past that despite a new makeover, Apple's virtual assistant remains behind Google Assistant. However, Apple has not fully released the features it promised last year at its WWDC event, which means that Siri has yet to receive a significant upgrade. iOS 18.4 update was reported to bring new Siri capabilities to the mix coupled with Apple Intelligence enhancements and much more. If you are not familiar with it, here is when Apple will release the first beta of iOS 18.4 to developers with upgraded Siri capabilities.
Apple will release iOS 18.4 beta either in the middle of this week or early next week
iOS 18.4 will be released to the general public in March, but before that, the company is expected to seed the first beta to developers. We have been waiting for the first beta of iOS 18.4 since January, and Apple has kept us in a never-ending speculative state. However, it was recently reported by analyst Mark Gurman from Bloomberg that the update will arrive "fairly soon" for developers.
Specifically, Gurman states that the iOS 18.4 beta update will be available to developers in the “middle of next week and early the following week.” This means that we have two timeframes at hand for which to look out. Apple could release the iOS 18.4 beta update on Thursday, which is the middle of the week, and the company has previously released beta updates on the same day as well. If not by Thursday, the company could release the first beta of iOS 18.4 either next Monday or Tuesday, which are typical timeframes for software releases.
As mentioned, iOS 18.4 will be a major update, and initial beta builds will only bring a few new additions, but every week, the company will add more features to the mix, allowing developers to curate bugs and issues gradually. The update is slated to bring major Siri upgrades to the iPhone and its expanded support for multiple languages, which includes Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. The update will also bring new emojis in line with the Unicode Consortium.
We will let you know when Apple releases iOS 18.4 updates to developers for testing purposes, so be sure to keep an eye out. Note that Apple could also release the update as soon as it sees fit, as the final word rests with the company.
