Intel Panther Lake-H Laptop CPUs Reportedly Debut One Year After Arrow Lake-H At CES

In a series of posts, Lenovo China's manager under the "思考未来啊" name has revealed some new details regarding Intel's next-gen Panther Lake CPUs. Panther Lake will be the follow-up to the Intel Arrow Lake "Core Ultra Series 2" lineup and should be branded under the "Core Ultra Series 3" line.

The posts first talk about the Intel Panther Lake-H family which will reportedly debut at CES 2026. The upcoming Intel Arrow Lake-H laptop CPUs will debut at CES 2025 alongside the Arrow Lake-HX family and target higher-end options. For the desktop side, current rumors suggest that Intel Nova Lake-S CPUs will be coming to the platform, but there is a subtle hint by the manager that Panther Lake might also introduce a desktop "S" series a year after the Arrow Lake-S lineup, so around late 2025.

Intel hasn't yet clarified the longevity plans of its LGA 1851 socket which currently and officially only supports Arrow Lake-S CPUs. This has made some users cautious about upgrading to the new LGA platform, since if Panther Lake or Nova Lake Desktop CPUs launch with a newer socket, the existing motherboards would become defunct.

In addition to these, the Lenovo China manager also seems to suggest that Intel might have an MOP (Memory On Package) product in the works. He wasn't clear about which product would be used, but it is not going to be Panther Lake-U.

So far, Nova Lake is expected to get a Halo variant with higher CPU and GPU cores. Intel has said that they will be focusing on traditional SoCs following the debut of Lunar Lake, which was the company's first Memory-On-Package SoC.

There are a lot of unknowns riding at Intel and, given the company's current state, a lot of products need to be re-evaluated to see whether they make economic sense for the blue team. We can expect more updates from the blue team on their future roadmap at CES 2025.
