The Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake Desktop CPU Refresh lineup is coming out in a few months and we have some alleged new specs for the chips courtesy of RedGamingTech.

Intel's Raptor Lake-S Desktop CPU Refresh Expected To Feature High Core Count & Support For Faster DDR5 Memory

Intel has been planning to launch revamped "Raptor Lake" series and we have seen several rumors surrounding the lineup. Intel's 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh Desktop CPU family will support the current LGA 1700 platforms and will include both desktop "S" and mobile  "HX" variants. However, this time RedGamingTech has provided details for specific SKUs within the desktop CPU lineup that you can see below:

The above-mentioned Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S Desktop CPUs show that Intel has focused on providing higher core count options, especially in the Core i5 lineup since the total core count has bumped up to 16 cores. Moreover, the rumored i7 14700/K/F will also benefit from the increased core count, ultimately making the CPUs a viable option for those who aren't ready to transition to LGA 1851 platform. The Intel Core i3 CPUs within the lineup are also rumored to see a bump from 4 cores to 6 cores. The following is what the family would like:

  • 13th Gen Core i9 (Up To 24 Cores) -> 14th Gen Core i9 (Up To 24 Cores)
  • 13th Gen Core i7 (Up To 16 Cores) -> 14th Gem Core i9 (Up To 20 Cores)
  • 13th Gen Core i5 (Up To 14 Cores) -> 14th Gen Core i5 (Up To 16 Cores)
  • 13th Gen Core i3 (Up To 4 Cores) -> 14th Gen Core i3 (Up To 6 Cores)

Although specific details for the desktop series aren't confirmed yet, we had several leaks in the past that hint at what the lineup will offer. Here is what you can expect, based on the information that we were able to gather from our sources:

  • Same Architecture as Raptor Lake (Raptor Cove P-Cores + Gracemont E-Cores)
  • Same Process Node as Raptor Lake (Intel 7 aka 10nm++)
  • Higher Clock Speeds Beyond 6.0 GHz
  • Support For Faster DDR5 Memory DIMMs
  • Much Higher Power Consumption (Close To 300W)
  • Compatibility With Existing LGA 1700 / 1800 Socket Motherboards

We can expect the new Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S Refresh lineup to launch in mid-October as revealed in previous leaks.

Details regarding pricing of the "Raptor Lake Refresh" lineup aren't evident yet, but you could expect similar pricing as the existing parts with the current lineup getting a slight price cut. Intel's Innovation 2023 event, scheduled for the middle of September, is likely to be where the company unveils further information about its future product lineup.
