Hybrid RTS/Action/RPG Hybrid Warshift Makes its Way to Steam
A very innovative and gorgeous looking hybrid genre game has made its way into Early Access. Warshift blends a lot of action, strategy and even RPG elements to make for one incredible, if somewhat incomplete ride.
Warshift experiments with the blending of RTS, action and RPG elements in an unorthodox way.
So many different genres mixed into one game that’s so massive in scale it almost seems impossible. It might be in Early Access, and thus not complete, but the transitions between each style is still pretty darn seamless considering.
The best part is that this is a one man show. Cyril Megam is the sole person behind this creation, and for the past three years he’s been perfecting everything in order to make it at least somewhat playable. The result? A game that very closely resembles Battlezone and Battlezone 2, but with far more options for how you can play. Command and control is more precise here.
“I came up with idea of this game a long time ago. Once, I’m decided to stop just to dream, but to make it real. Being a professional artist, game designer and programmer, I spent 10 years of my life working for many game companies. Finally I decided to leave my last job, staying home like a hermit for a while, and focusing on my own game title. The game you see here is a result of my personal day to day hard work over a 3 years. That was my personal challenge, but I’m pretty sure I can do even more with community’s help. Cheers, Cyril”
You can find it on Steam for $19.99 if you choose to partake. Thus far it’s received mostly positive reviews. It’s praised for it’s great graphics and effects, the unusual mixture of genres and how intense the battles can be. So check it out!
