The PlayStation 5 DualSense controller features have been put to great use to enhance immersion in Saros, but for many players, adaptive triggers are only delivering frustration. The default configuration uses this feature on L2: a half-press activates Alt-Fire, while a full press through the resistance triggers your Power Weapon.
In the heat of combat, it is incredibly easy to accidentally press too hard and waste your Power Weapon when you only intended to use an Alt-Fire ability. If you are struggling with these pressure levels, there is a much more reliable way to play.

Separating Alt-Fire from the Trigger

The solution to this issue lies in the remapping option within the game's settings. By default, the Circle button is not assigned to any specific combat function in the base controller layout. You can utilize this empty slot to decouple your weapon modes and gain perfect control over your arsenal.
How to remap your controls:
- Open the Main Menu.
- Navigate to the Controller Tab.
- Select Button Mapping.
- Assign the Alt-Fire function to the Circle button by first pressing L2 and then Circle
A Better Combat Loop

Once remapped, you no longer have to worry about the pressure on the L2 button. Instead, you can simply hold the Circle button and then press R2 to use the Alt-Fire mode of your current weapon.
This change is a game-changer for pretty much every weapon, including:
- Chakrams: It makes revving the Ripsaw Chakram discs significantly more comfortable, as you can maintain the rev more comfortably and consistently
- Shotguns: Using the Circle button ensures you never accidentally trigger a Power Weapon blast when you are just trying to aim a Pellet Wall or Pellet Grenade
