You’ll find different items as you carefully explore every location in this survival horror, and combining them will help you stay alive. But how does crafting actually work in the game? How many resources are needed to get a new item? You will find all the info you need in this guide.
WARNING: this guide contains spoilers of the game, including recipes that can be unlocked during the story’s second half.
How to craft healing items in Resident Evil 4 Remake
During the game, you will find various herbs. They can be green, red, or yellow. In detail:
- Green herbs: can be used alone or combined with other herbs. In the first case, they will restore a small amount of health.
- Red herbs: cannot be used alone but can be combined with other herbs to create powerful healing items.
- Yellow herbs: cannot be used alone. Combining them with other herbs will increase your maximum health.
As we have just outlined, the three herbs can be mixed in different ways to create healing items that will regenerate your health and, in some cases, even increase the length of your HP bar. All the available combinations are listed below.

How crafting works in the game

To craft new objects, you need to access the Crafting menu and choose the item you want to obtain. If you have all the resources required to complete this action, press the dedicated button, and the new item will be added to your inventory. However, if some resources are missing, you will see them colored in red. You can also do it from the Items menu if you select one of the items you need to craft the desired object.
If you play at the lowest difficulty, labeled as Assisted Game Mode in Resident Evil 4 Remake, you will get more ammo when crafting.

You will find resources such as Gunpowder, Herbs, and Knives when you explore the map, hidden in crates or on the floor and shelves. Ensure you check every area in detail before proceeding to the next one, so your chances of missing valuable items will be much lower. You can also obtain some of these resources by trading them with Spinels at the Merchant.
