Earn Studs quickly in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight using these tips

In true LEGO game fashion, destroying LEGO brick props in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight yields varying amounts of Studs. However, simply smashing objects isn't enough to clear out Bat-Mite’s shop, as mastering the Combo Multiplier will allow you to truly rack up a fortune.

Mastering the Combo Multiplier

In the upper-right corner of the interface, you will find a multiplier that indicates how much each collected Stud is worth.

  • The Base Multiplier starts at 1x, but it can be increased to 2x by collecting Studs
  • You can increase the maximum value of this multiplier by learning certain skills in the Skill Tree by using Skill Bricks.

To speed up the building of this multiplier, press R2 / RT while playing as Batman with Batarangs equipped. He will automatically launch them at the nearest destructible objects, allowing you to destroy objects without having to get close and use melee attacks. If you upgrade your Stud collecting range with the appropriate skill, you will also collect them much faster, thus speeding up your multiplier increase significantly.

Once you master how the Stud multiplier works, you can put your knowledge to good use.

Timing the Stud Chests

Scattered around Gotham are hidden chests containing massive amounts of high-value Studs. To get the most out of these, do not open them immediately as you find them.

  • Check the surroundings of the chest first. Destroy every nearby LEGO object to build your multiplier to its highest possible value.
  • Once the icon in the top right is maxed out, open the chest quickly before it decreases. The multiplier applies to every Stud that pops out, turning every chesr standard chest into a massive Stud haul.

Responding to Gotham Crimes

Taking a cue from the Batman: Arkham series, you will frequently receive radio reports of crimes happening across Gotham City. While Legacy of the Dark Knight does not feature a traditional XP system for these encounters, completing them is still worthwhile, as defeating enemies involved in these crimes will reward you with Studs.

Keeping the multiplier up during these encounters is not easy at all, as the environment may not have destructible objects, but even with a 1x multiplier, these encounters provide a solid Studs reward.

What to Spend Your Studs On

You will need a massive amount of Studs to achieve 100% completion in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight as they are the main currency for all cosmetic and Batcave content, including:

  • New Vehicles
  • Costumes for all characters
  • Batcave Props to customize the Batcave.

By focusing on your multiplier before opening chests and completing every crime report you come across, you can significantly reduce the grind for these unlocks.
