How Does the Puzzle Work

Opening the Secret Box in Silent Hill f requires completing three different puzzles. The clues are provided by the letters written by Rinko addressed to Shu, which guide you in sliding the wooden strips properly to show specific symbols.

How to Open the First Box

The clues to opening the first box are found in the letter near the box itself. The key hint is the sweet and sour taste of the cake, which indicates that the box should show sweet and sour fruits only, so the apple, cherries, strawberry, pineapple, grapes, and pomegranates.

How to Open the Second Box

The second letter you can read after opening the first box mentions unfolding and a journal, so you need to move the wooden strips so that only journals are shown on the box.

How to Open the Third Box

Like the first two boxes, you will find the clues to open the third and final box in a new letter. This letter mentions sakura in full bloom, so you must move the wooden strips to show every flower on the box.

After opening the third box, you will get a key needed to explore the school further, and proceed in the main campaign. If you need help with other puzzles, such as the Shrine Path and the Shrine Vault puzzles, we have got you covered with our Silent Hill f guides.
