[UPDATE - March 23, 2026, 6:15 AM] With the release of Patch 1.00.03, Pearl Abyss has officially addressed the blurry graphics and resolution issues on PlayStation 5. You no longer need to disable 120Hz at the console's system level to fix the image quality.
How to enable the new setting:
- Open the Main Menu and navigate to Settings.
- Go to the Display/Graphics tab.
- Locate the new 120Hz Mode toggle and switch it to On or Off depending on your display.
Original guide follow
[Original Guide] Crimson Desert on base PlayStation 5 may not look as good as it does on a high-end PC, but it's still an impressive game with some of the most beautiful landscapes seen in the current console generation. However, some users have reported extremely blurry visuals, with no way to fix them via the game's own settings.
If you're among the users who are experiencing this issue, you are in luck, as there's an easy way to fix it (unlike the AMD FSR 4 issues on PC), and experience the game the way it is intended on the console.
The Fix
Blurry visuals in Crimson Desert on base PlayStation 5 are reportedly caused by the game mishandling the system's 120Hz mode when connected to a display that does not support 120Hz.
As such, you can easily fix the issue by:
- Opening the Settings menu on PlayStation 5
- Select Video Output
- Turn off the "Enable 120Hz Output" option
While developer Pearl Abyss hasn't addressed the issue in any of its official communication channels, PR Director Will Powers provided the fix, making it as official as it gets until a future patch resolves it for good.
