Honkai: Star Rail Character Trailers Are Every Bit As Stylish As Genshin, 10m Pre-Register

Honkai:  Star Rail is the latest game from Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse, and much like Genshin, the game is going to make its money by offering a wide array of playable characters obtained via a randomized gacha system. HoYoverse are experts at getting players to pony up the cash with unique, well-designed characters, and it seems Honkai: Star Rail will continue that tradition. Don’t believe me? Well, HoYoverse has released a series of Honkai character trailers, and they’re every bit as stylish as anything they’ve put out there for Genshin.

A whopping 25 Honkai: Star Rail characters are already confirmed, although not all of them will necessarily be playable at launch. Here’s the full rundown:

Honkai: Star Rail is a lock to be a big deal, as over 10 million people have already pre-registered to play the game (similar numbers as Genshin did pre-launch). Need to know more? Here’s a brief description of Honkai: Star Rail’s world and story:

“Honkai: Star Rail is a brand-new space fantasy RPG with a journey through immense worlds of the unknown. The game features fantasy elements with myths and legends integrated into a space sci-fi story. Combined with the intuitive turn-based combat system, large maps with maze exploration and immersive storylines that together compose an interstellar melody filled with surprises and rewarding experiences, that echo throughout the universe!

Implanted with a Stellaron, the protagonist bravely set sail for the galaxy to drill down to the truth surrounding the so-called Cancer of All Worlds. Players will be able to experience a vast universe abundant in distinctive cultures, landscapes, and scenery. From Herta Space Station where the story starts and you receive the prerequisite knowledge for the forthcoming journey, to Jarilo-VI where numerous dangers and conflicts are frozen beneath the snow, to the eastern-fantasy-infused silkpunk flagship Xianzhou Luofu where the topic of immortality is the cause of both development and strife.”

Honkai: Star Rail launches on PC and mobile devices on April 26. A release date for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game has yet to be revealed. The game will be free-to-play, but as mentioned, most characters and weapons will be distributed via randomized gacha-style “banners.” Here’s a rundown of how the system worked in Genshin Impact.
