The first beta of Android 15 is out, and it is worth noting that this is the first proper taste of the next major Android update. If you are looking to update but are unsure if there are any new changes, this post is for you as we look at everything new in the latest update.
Are you thinking about upgrading to the first Android 15 beta? This is what you should expect from Google's latest update
If you are already on the Android 15 Developer Preview or you are enrolled in the beta program, you should be getting the OTA for the latest beta any time, so you can go ahead and install it. The beta is available on all the supported Pixel devices, and we will have a proper guide for you in the coming hours, too.
The first Android 15 beta introduces a Cellular network security option, which you can find in Settings > Security & privacy > More security & privacy. You can look at the screenshot below:
There are some changes with the new Android 15 beta, as Google has added new Wi-Fi "privacy" settings. There is also a Send device name toggle present in the beta, which you can check out below:
The latest Android 15 beta also brings Pixel Weather widgets, so if you want to get the best possible Pixel experience, you can always use these widgets. However, I do have a feeling that these widgets will be exclusive to Pixel devices.
Another thing that I really like about the latest Android 15 beta is that it will finally allow you to have a default wallet app. Although I know most people use Google Wallet as their preferred app, but if you want to use something else, you can do so once you move over to the latest Android version.
That's all, folks! These are all the changes that Google has made to the Android 15. However, you also have to know that since this is a beta version, you are going to see a lot of fixes and resolved issues. You can always head over to the Android developers' website and get all the information as far as the fixes have been made. Keep in mind that as the Google I/O 2024 is next month, the company will be sharing a lot of information on Android 15, and we will be sure to keep you updated as we learn more.
