Rockstar Prices GTA VI at $80, Defusing Fears of a $100 Standard Edition just Hours Before Pre-Orders Open

Rockstar has officially priced GTA VI's standard edition at $80, putting an end to fears of a $100 launch price just hours before pre-orders open. We also learned all the pre-order details, including what's in the Ultimate Edition.

Rockstar Games has just confirmed that GTA VI will be priced at $80, thus putting to rest long-held fears of a higher price. The studio also shared gorgeous new Grand Theft Auto VI screenshots and key details about the GTA VI Ultimate Edition, just hours ahead of the opening of pre-orders, which will happen at midnight local time on June 25.

This version of GTA VI offers an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and other story-linked content for Jason and Lucia across the game's progression. The Ultimate Edition is priced at $100 and includes:

  • '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Paradise Garage: an off-road Mud Club vehicle stored in Watson Bay, with a weapon locker and stash box.
  • ’95 Grotti Cheetah: a mid-'90s sports car with a retro-futuristic livery.
  • Jason’s Safehouse vehicle additions: a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, Crest Kayak, and a modified Vapid Ganado pickup with cab spoiler, rear aerials, and special livery.
  • Vehicle Mod Shops: two exclusive customization locations, Rideout Customs in Vice City and One-Eyed Willie’s in Lake Leonida.
  • Classic Car Collection: a Wyman commission to restore abandoned and project cars, including four Ultimate Edition-exclusive vehicles.

These bonuses unlock gradually as Jason and Lucia progress through the story of Grand Theft Auto VI. Furthermore, an Ultimate Edition Upgrade will be available for purchase separately for Standard Edition owners at any time.

Moreover, all pre-orders of GTA VI ahead of the November 19 launch will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, which evokes classic Vice City style and includes:

  • A ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan.
  • Shore Court Garage near Ocean Beach, with a weapon locker and a place to fence stolen goods.
  • Outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia.
  • An exclusive weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti’s tropical shirt style.

Last but not least, anyone who pre-orders any edition of GTA VI on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store gets one free month of GTA+ (redemption is limited to one per Platform Account). The GTA+ offer includes:

Rockstar also clarified a couple of things: physical copies of the game contain a code for digital download, not a disc. Moreover, the game itself is described as a single player experience, cementing the long-held belief that the online mode for GTA VI will come at a later date.
