GTA V Multiplayer Mod with Dedicated Servers & User-made Game Modes Released
The team behind FiveM multiplayer mod for GTA V, released the first experimental version, which offers an advanced multiplayer environment for people to play on dedicated servers.
FiveM is a multiplayer modification for Grand Theft Auto V which, much in the lines of popular modifications in the past, offers an advanced multiplayer environment for people to play on dedicated servers with user-made game modes. It builds on the solid multiplayer framework set by the Rockstar Studios themselves as part of the RAGE engine, which has gone through rigorous testing since its first release in 2008, adding high-level customizability features.
The particular GTA V Mod build is still an experimental version and does not reflect the quality of the final build. In future builds the team aims to include a server browser, from which players will be able to select servers with custom rules.
The mod can be downloaded from here.
We have recently covered Rockstar's statement, that cosmetic Mods are not a bannable offense, as well certain players complaining for getting banned for using mods in the single player game.
While Rockstar appears to acknowledge the fact that simple cosmetic mods for GTA V have no effect on disrupting the game for other players, thusly enabling the use of such mods, they ban mods in single player.
That would be justified if the mod had an impact on the proper delivery that the developers wanted for GTA V.
User Ronald McRegan explained:
“Being the “definitive edition” I expected it to take into account the strengths of PC gaming, including the ability to mod games. The worst example of this, and the main reason I gave it a negative review is the FOV mods. The default FOV is not natural for PC gamers, even at maximum settings it’s only able to see half the windscreen and half the side window when driving, and you have little awareness of your surroundings in first-person. If you try to fix this yourself with simple mods, your account is banned without warning for an unspecified period of time.”
We will bring you any new information on GTA V a soon as it becomes available.
