Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is going to receive an RTX Remix Path Tracing mod that will make the game look unreal, judging from some early screenshots.

The screenshots, which were shared on X/Twitter by PC_Focus, show how much lighting and shadows are improved by the mod, especially in night scenes. During the daytime, however, the modded path tracing doesn't look as good as it makes the game look a bit washed out, but, given how there's still some work to be done, things will likely be improved as development proceeds.

Despite having been released years ago, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City continues to receive a lot of interest from the modding community. Earlier this month, Revolution Team announced the game's Next Gen Edition, a total conversion mod for GTA V which aims to recreate the entirety of the game using the engine that powers the fifth entry in the series. The Next Gen Edition mod also aims to bring some improvements over the original game, such as the gameplay enhancements seen in the Definitive Edition, improved textures for cars and NPCs, neon lights on buildings from Vice City Stories, and additional fixes.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City also received an official remaster a couple of years back, which is included in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. While the collection is still plagued by some issues, it is the most convenient way to enjoy the first 3D entries in the series created by Rockstar Games on modern hardware.
