Samsung has maintained the same battery capacity and maximum fast-charging support on its Galaxy ‘Ultra’ smartphones for four generations, and when rumors popped up saying that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will finally get an upgrade in these two categories, it would likely have prepared future buyers for an upcoming upgrade next year. Unfortunately, one tipster has refuted these claims but, at the same time, does not provide an update on those specifications.

Despite the Galaxy S24 Ultra possibly sticking with the same 5,000mAh battery, it might feature an improved technology

While Ice Universe did not provide specification details on the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s battery and maximum fast-charging support, on the newly-branded social media platform X, Yogesh Brar gave a reply saying ‘45 and 5,000mAh,’ presumably providing what we were looking for. It is likely that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will support 45W fast-charging, with the top-tier model maintaining the same 5,000mAh cell as previous-generation models.

The tipster might not have a clean record, but when it comes to providing specifications of Samsung’s high-end smartphones, he does have a knack for being correct. There was also a rumor doing the rounds, claiming that Samsung would transition to stackable battery technology that would result in a 10 percent increase in capacity, and it would be less susceptible to swelling and wear.

Unfortunately, Ice Universe has not commented on this battery technology debuting on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but there are other upgrades to look forward to, such as the rumored titanium build, which was an update provided by the same person who gave today’s info. Samsung is also reportedly sticking with the same optics hardware on paper, but Ice Universe has stated that we should expect improvements in the 3x and 10x cameras too.

Naturally, a bigger battery and the ability to top it up faster would have been terrific upgrades for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but Samsung has to use more efficient internals to deliver better runtime on the upcoming flagship.
