The Pixel and Pixel XL now start from $79.99, if you can get around some of the conditions

It has been almost three years since the first-generation Pixel and Pixel XL models were introduced by Google, sporting one of the best cameras the industry could churn out. Unfortunately, their starting price was $650, which would not sit well with customers who thought Google would be treating them to a device that would go easy on their wallets. Well now it can, thanks to Woot, an online retailer that’s running a sale on both models. The 32GB internal storage models of the Pixel and Pixel XL carry a price of $79.99 and $99.99, respectively, and they feature a ‘certified refurbished’ badge.

The following description provides more insight on their condition:

“Hey, you there! These items are expected to have a moderate level of wear & tear including (but not limited to) scratches, dents, and dings. Outside of their physical appearance, they have been tested to be in full working condition.”

We’ve also explained in detail what a refurbished smartphone is and why should you get one, along with some tips that will make your purchase a seamless one. Woot also offers a 90-day warranty, so if there are any problems, you’ll have three months from the date of purchase to get them resolved. The Pixel features a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, while the bigger Pixel XL sports a 5.5-inch panel with the same resolution and display technology.

Both handsets are underpinned by a Snapdragon 821, 4GB RAM and an impressive 12.3MP rear camera even by today’s standards. The front camera is an 8MP shooter and can record 1080p footage at 30FPS. Both handsets are also charged via USB-C but sadly, don’t provide Qi wireless charging support. Fortunately, for $80, we can’t complain much can we?
