New Final Fantasy XVI footage was shared online today, providing a new look at one of the abilities at Torgal's disposal that will prevent players from getting lost as they traverse the game's luscious world.

The new footage, which was shared on Twitter on the game's official Japanese profile, focuses on Animal Instinct, a navigation assist ability that can be activated at any time by holding down the L3 button. Once activated, Torgal will guide Clive where he is supposed to go, which will be a very handy tool to have, especially for players who like to go off the beaten path. One more interesting thing to note in the clip is the presence of what clearly is a loading zone, something we were told was a thing of the past thanks to the PlayStation 5's fast SSD drive.

Torgal will assist Clive not only when exploring the world of Final Fantasy XVI but also in combat, as showcased by some gameplay footage shared online yesterday. While fighting all sorts of enemies, players can give orders to the wolf, enabling flashy and powerful combination attacks.

Final Fantasy XVI releases on PlayStation 5 on June 22nd worldwide. While no other version of the game has been confirmed so far, we know it will be a PS5 console exclusive for only six months, so a PC version will be released eventually. According to producer Naoki Yoshida, however, this won't happen as soon as the exclusivity period ends,  as optimizing a PC version properly would require more than just six months.
